As you know, Canada has 10 provinces
and 3 territories, with all of them operating their local immigration programs
that allow the provinces and territories to nominate eligible individuals for
Canada permanent resident visa to the federal government.
These local immigration programs are
known as – provincial nominee programs (PNPs). There are enough of PNPs to
choose from for your Canada PR visa application by way of a PNP.
Among these, a famous name is British
Columbia Provincial Nominee Program
(BCPNP). When it comes to British Columbia PNP, you might have often heard in
Canada immigration news that the province holds another ‘Tech Pilot Draw'.
Are you familiar with this term or
you have just heard of it?
Let us throw some light over it.
British Columbia Tech Pilot is a
pilot program and is a part of the British Columbia Provincial Nomination
Program (BCPNP) – the province’s nominee program. BC Tech Pilot offers an
opportunity to candidates who are employed in one of the in-demand tech
occupations to receive provincial nomination for Canada PR visa.
Introduced in 2017, the BCPNP Tech
Pilot was devised when the province realised that the demand for talent in
British Columbia's tech sector had been surpassing the supply. The initiative
allows the province to attract skilled workers and meet the demand for tech
talent by expanding province's talent pool of skilled workers. In view of the
program’s success, the provincial government has decided to extend BC Tech
pilot until June 2020.
Candidates who are nominated through
BC Tech Pilot program are issued a work permit support letter, which allows
them to apply for a temporary work permit.
Along with that, they are invited to
submit an official application for Canada permanent resident visa. BC Tech
pilot allows those candidates who are eligible for one of the BCPNP Skills
Immigration programs, and also meet the requirements for the BC Tech Pilot to
apply for the program to experience faster application processing times coupled
with other benefits.
BC Tech Pilot Job Offer Requirements
The BC Tech Pilot has its specific
job offer requirements. For you to qualify for BC Tech Pilot, you must have a
job offer in the province in one of the 29 selected in-demand occupations. The
offer is required to be for an employment of at least one year. If the
candidate is already working with an employer in the position that is being
shown in the program application, they are required to have minimum 120 days
remaining in that position at the time of submitting their application.
Tech and IT workers can immigrate to
British Columbia by way of obtaining Canadian permanent residence visa quickly
through BC Tech Pilot.
